‘Never Enough’ Film Secures Funding

This year I am incredibly excited to announce that ‘Never Enough’ has been awarded a grant for the production of a sizzle reel! This hybrid documentary-drama focuses on social media obsession and the impact this has on the Australian youth, and follows the story of a modern mother’s disconnection with her daughter. Funding is also being sought to produce an accompanying podcast to explore the themes and topics of the film, and assist promotion efforts.

In 2019, I was tremendously thankful to receive a grant for concept development of the film, and as part of this process undertook a mentorship with local Mackay-based Writer and Director Tania Tass, together with Truth Empire Films’ Producer Deb Thaiday. These two women were instrumental in helping me move forward with this project and have been a pillar of encouragement for my progress so far. A very special thank you to these ladies, along with the Mackay Regional Arts Development Fund Committee for your continuing support!

The concept development process also allowed me to expand my professional network nationally, connecting with Producers and other Directors across the country, as well as speak with funding bodies such as Screen Australia and Screen Queensland. The list is long and there are many people to thank however the proactive support I received from Screenworks and the ladies at Truth Empire were second to none!

As time goes on I will be able to reveal more about the project, but for now am busy creating storyboards and shot lists for the filming portions of the sizzle reel! I’ll be sharing more updates as progress is made.
